澎湖群島多漁港，夜間萬點漁火流動，忽明忽滅，與水中映射之星斗互相煇映，「澎湖漁火」因而曾被選為台灣八景之一
澎湖群島，亦稱澎湖列島，為台灣第一大離島群，位於台灣海峽上，東距台灣本島約50公里，西離歐亞大陸約140公里，由90個大小島嶼組成，總面積約為128平方公里，全境行政區均隸屬於中華民國臺灣省澎湖縣。16世紀時葡萄牙人來到東方，發現澎湖海域魚產豐富，島上住著許多漁民，因此稱呼澎湖為漁翁島（Pescadores）。
